Dance Revolution Rules

 

  1. Enrolment and Indemnity forms are to be completed annually and any change in your personal details are to be reported to your teacher within 14 days of such change.

  2. All fees are charged strictly on a term basis and must be paid in full before the end of the first month of each term.   A 10% penalty per month will be levied on all amounts outstanding beyond the last day of term unless prior arrangements have been made for the settlement of same.   Pupils will not be entered into exams or competitions if term fees are outstanding. Fees are subject to an annual increase in accordance with the annual inflation rate.   Cheques are not accepted.

  3. The dancing term will be the same as the ordinary government school term.   There will be no classes on public holidays unless otherwise arranged.   Classes must be attended regularly, failing which your place in the class will be lost and all monies paid in respect thereof will be forfeited.   There will be no refunds for classes not attended.

  4. Students are expected to excuse themselves from class beforehand, unless in the case of an emergency.

  5. Notice of your intention to leave the studio at the end of the year will be accepted as from the end of the third term.   In all other instances, a minimum of 4 lessons’ notice of your intention to leave the studio is required, which does not include the current term enrolled for.   Notice fees will be calculated pro-rata in accordance with the current term fees and you are welcome to attend the lessons so charged for.

  6. Audiences will only be permitted on pre-arranged watching days. 

  7. No chewing gum or food of any kind will be permitted whilst dancing. No food is allowed in the dance hall. Water may be brought in a water bottle. No fizzy cold drinks will be allowed in the hall.

  8. Cell phones are to be switched off during lessons and handed in at the beginning of the lesson.

  9. Only regulation clothing may be worn to classes.

  10. In respect of Clauses 7, 8, & 9, please note that a fine of R5.00 will be charged to your account in respect of each and every offence.   Continued offenders will be asked to leave the studio and will forfeit any fees already paid.

  11. Modern and ballet dancers are required to come to class no less than 15 minutes early to stretch and warm up before class.

  12. Disruptive and/or disrespectful students will be asked to leave the class. Continued misbehaviour will result in the student being asked to leave the studio and forfeit any fees already paid

  13.  Fees do not include exam and competition registration-and-entry fees or Choreography of any solo and/or duo.

  14.  All school bags/ tog bags/ shoes/ clothes are to be left outside the studio. 

  15. In the case where the student has been absent from class 3 times or more per term, he/she will no longer be allowed to take part in the competition/ showcase or exam. 

  16. Damage to property by students, friends or family e.g. breaking windows, mirrors, plants etc, will be the responsibility of these parents to replace and repair.
